We have been using Gibco RPMI 1640 + L-glutamine (catalogue # 11875093), however our supplier recently increased the price AND added a handling charge.
I have found Lonza BioWhittaker RPMI 1640 + L-glutamine (BW12-702F Lonza 12702F) at much more reasonable prices. One of our post-docs is quite hesitant to try it. Does anyone have experience using this supplier for cell media?
I checked the specification and both look pretty the same. I think you wont have problem using any of them.

I think the same type of media and ingredient doesn't effect on your cells unless you change the type of media.

Thank-you Mónica & Hamad for your replies, these are my intuitions as well. It's just that I have an extremely picky post-doc who is scared to change anything, even providers of the exact same media. I'm hoping someone who has used both might reply to say they observed no difference. Thank-you. Selene.
I have recently changed to ther GIbco-Gluatamax medium instead Lonza wirh Glu medium in my LCL cultures due to the fact Lonza has stopped their distribution in Spain (at least for now), even so my experience tells me that Roswell Park Memorial Institute (RPMI) It must have a specific formulation that it is not possible to alter, and only the Glu supplement might be different respect of their stabilty.
I believe that differences in their prices only it may be due to his distribution costs
