Hello everyone.
I have done drug exposure 2 days ago on my 96 well plates. I am not sure if I checked this particilar well before or not but today I saw this. It does not look like living! doesnt move and kind of stuck to the plate.
Those black stuff are from the dirty microscope so ignore them.
otherwise the cells look fine I had fungi contamination before so I started over with new cells and medium. I am 100% sure I saw somthing similar and red in a plate which didnt have infection last week but it was smaller. please tell me its not infection 😕

Nicolò M. Villa Thank you for your answer. but its just this red thingy that I want to know what it is or someone has seen somthing like this. I had fungi infection before it doesnt look like fungi at all. bacteria also I have seen it doesnt look like that either. my PI thinks its a precipitation from the media.
Kimia Hosseini the regular shape supports your PI's thought. Then I'd suggest to check the protocol you used for possible excesses, the stocks you used for contaminations, then the conditions in the well that might have led to precipitation (i.e. pH and salinity).
Your PI is correct. Definitely contamination, likely from vessel manufacture. It is also likely to be inert. Go back to your supplier, show them your evidence and ask for another batch.
David Ian Leavesley Di Xia you are right. It was not a contamination and didnt affect the cells and it didnt grow either :) cells ste just fine
I don't believe it is any kind of viable biological contamination due to the definition of the edges and corners. I would be more inclined to believe it is a small piece if paper or plastic possibly from the initial inoculation or even from the manufacturer. If it is not changing the only issue I can see is thta it might skew your results due to the area of coverage possibly not being exposed to your drug.
