There are many types involved. Lithium Ion Phosphate, LTO, and Lithium manganese cobalt , which are currently in availability. Need to know what type traction application are you using it. Is it a 2/3/4 wheel .

Second whatever may be the case, buying the batteries is fine, testing them requires a decent infrastructure , ( depending on what types of test) you would like to conduct. Testing follows various rigorous standard. Do you plan to conduct any accelerated tests etc.

So make you choices before attempting to test , as these batteries are heavy and cost relatively lot .

Normally you find either NMC cells in pouch or prismatic format or the NCA cell chemistry in the Tesla in 21700 cells.
