I have come across some articles suggesting that the Genetically modified mosquito (GMM), which were tested/released in Brazil maybe responsible for spreading Zika virus. Knowing that the GMM are male, whereas Zika virus is transmitted via female mosquito, the question is does the virus transmit from male to female mosquito or visa versa?

I haven't seen the articles you describe, but they cannot be correct. The family of viruses from which Zika comes have been well studied for decades, and we know a lot about their basic biology. The viruses are not transmitted between mosquitoes except in some instances where female mosquitoes can transmit the virus to their eggs. This rare instance is the only way that male mosquitoes can be infected with this type of virus, and such infected males are not known to transmit the virus any further. The way female mosquitoes become infected in the normal life-cycle is by biting an infected person or animal to take a blood meal (males do not take blood meals). The infected female can then transmit the infection to the next person or animal she bites. The GM mosquitoes being released in South America are all male, and cannot be infected with Zika.

I think David gave us the basic clue. Male mosquitoes don't feed on blood, so it is inactive in the transmission of the arbovirus (sika, dengue, yellow fever, chik). Transmission from female to male seems unlikely and irrelevant in the transmission of sika.
