Hello everyone,
I need to segment brightfield images of HEK293 cells and track them over time. Can you suggest (both open source and commercially available) software that work fine on cells that grow at high confluency and really close to each other?

Hello Carmen. I would suggest ImageJ/Fiji. It has segmentation tools. For more details, check the following link.

Hi Carmen Grandi , try Cell Profiler https://cellprofiler.org/, the group also has a forum https://forum.image.sc/tag/cellprofiler, you can also ask on https://community.imagingqa.com/ by James O'Callaghan's group for advice.
Our group used Cell Profiler for segmenting lots of densely packed (virus infected) cells, we got pretty good results. Hope this helps, Ben
