Dynamics of Power Electronic converters are becoming important and may due to poorly tuned controllers introduce instability in microgrid systems. Do you know of software appropriate for modelling components and for studying interactions between such systems?
I haven't heard about any package in Python that is designed for dynamic simulation of power electronics. Numpy, however, is very well designed for linear algebra based computations required for power electronics applications.

I have done some works about the AI technique for motor control and power electrics. In these works, the first issue is how to introduce python to power electrics area, because python is very suitable for AI implement. In my works, I use MATLAB/Simulink combined with python to do some simulation work.
MATLAB2016b and the upper version support python and offer a API with python. You can use Simulink as your power electric platform and use python to control it.

In my opinion, Plecs software is very good option for analysis of power electronics converters. It may operate as additional toolbox for Matlab or as a standalone application. In the second case, a shorter calculation time may be achieved. In our lab, we use this software for modeling VSI for PMSM drives, as well as for investigating DC-DC power converters.
