The rice varieties (high yielding) which have 2-7 days dormancy period can protect the viviparous germination. Some rice producing area where viviparous germination is a great problem. We can recommend those varieties of that particular area.
The Indian Institute of Rice Research (IIRR) has recently released four new varieties of rice namely: DRR Dhan 53, DRR Dhan 54, DRR Dhan 55 & DRR Dhan 56 for the farmers. The Director of ICAR-IIRR expressed that these four varieties of rice would definitely stabilize the rice production in the country. I think those varities have that featuers. you can cntact them!
You can keep rice under water all the time, keeping it at the level of five centimeters. If you do not want to do this, just water the ground all the time so that it does not dry out. Seeds will begin to germinate in a week.
