I have recorded from the primary visual cortex of the ferret; I am trying to verify the location of my recording site via the electrode track. Our current set up does not allow for electrolytic lesion and out of fear of damaging the electrode, I did not pre-coat the electrode with a dye (e.g. CM-DiI).

Is there still a way for me to find my electrode track if I have an idea of where the recording was? I have taken large field images of all my slices (2X) but can't see anything. Would it behoove me to go to a larger magnification on the confocal (20X)?
