Is it possible to model compliant or flexure joints in sim mechanics. I want to use sim mechanics for modeling and simulation compliant XYZ positioning stage?
a few years ago I modeled compliant or flexure Joints of a machining test rig in order to analyze its dynamic behavior by using SimMechanics -Tool box of MATLAB. It was working quite well. We were then comparing dynamic in-process tool displacements with (experimental) with the modeled, theoretical signals. Quite instructive!
yes. It will be better simulate the flexure part in Abaqus or Ansys, because these FE software are more accurate. You can obtain the stiffness of the flexure and then assembly them in Sim and use the obtained the stiffness.
