For demonstrating the general performances (e.g. IV and PV), yes you can use any light source. In this case, the results shouldn't be strictly compared with the nameplate data for verification purposes.
You are welcome. In a recent experiment, some of my undergraduate students mixed halogen and tungsten lights for testing the performances of solar-PV modules. The results were satisfying, but they could not produce high light intensity while keeping the temperature constant at 25oC. The abstract of the study is available at,
