Nonlocality as understood in quantum mechanical wave interpretation is not used for the modelling of proteins, enzymes and more complex structures like cell membranes and mitochondria. In my opinion slow interaction like calcium, potassium waves are responsible for quantum integration of brain cells including totally neglected contribution of glial cells in brain functioning, including the molecular bases of consciousness.
