Quantum mechanics is very hard to understand. Consciousness is not a bit understood. To think QM and its phantastical effects could constitute consciousness is not the best idea. QM is located in micro objects and consciousness is the result of data processing in the brain where hundreds or thousands of impulses were analyzed in a statistical manner. In this case QM will fail.

What about Josephson Effect or laser where micro becomes macro !

No doubt cosciousness generation, as most of brain activity, involves various processes/mechanisms on various levels of processing. We usually analyze levels: molecular, neuron, neural areas activation and interactions, whole functions, and even psychology and behavior. Complex interaction among layers of such processing not exclude lower levels, including QM. But joining theses various theories needs for additional interdisciplinary research.

Realy great answer but i have two cats who understand language ans show higher emotions like we do so this jump is not dramatic , rathe lack of developed language and speech center are responsible for the fact that the cats do not read the booka and dicuss the content.

Emotionally they are the same as human beings

that consciousness or your brain state related to it is a physical electromagnetic phenomemon

let me give you one example

If i record EEG in two human beings beind 5 meters apart

and i had found episodes of coherence between these two

signal so what >>>

how you can interpret that .... simply our brain are powerful generators of EM field

Also I am afraid that there me an effect that if there is one sceptical persn in the lab the experiment can fails as possibly

so experimenting and teking measurements is the only way to go ahed not just

shuffling words and disputing over and over on the definitions and meaning of words (notetion, denotation and all that stuff)

most of the papers is discovering the same over and over and just using different semantics to publish it !

Amrit, if consciousness is functioning as the observer, then the observer observes itself, so consciousness is both the observer and the observed, therefore consciousness is fundamental. Input from the brain enters consciousness. Little by little consciousness synthetizes what is most essencial getting rid of noise.

have just read the book by Michio Kaku on "The future of the mind"

and just before that the book by Richard A. Muller , "The physics of Time" and i was just mindblown.

I like this guy as i am very much like him. To make progres is to make experiments as the theorethicians are far ahead of experimental biophysics.

Just one example is my theory of quantum genetic code with Neper constant as the number of positions used in the code and coherent quantum states as the signatures / nature of aminoacid structure.

The people in Ohio made a progres in calculating of semiconductor electro spectra in the double helix and soon maybe they will prove local superconductivity.. But what about experimental verication ???. Why not use emf to modify the translation process ????. Look for highly mutagenic frequencies as all in Nature is based on resonances, oscillations and phase synchrony. Is it not amazing that by turning the knob of resistor you cam modify with your hand a phase of quantum wave functions ????

I must write my book on "quantum theory of reincarnation this winter". But before i will go to Ksiaz Castle to the Geodymanic PAS Laboratory and do an experiment on me an my wife Margaret. We will study the effect of week magnetic field on intersubject EEG coherence in the state of appreciation/empathy/love, whatever you call it. !!!
