As you probably know prof W.A. little from USA had proposed this in early sixties.
I had a correspondence on that with prof Josephson and tried to interest dr Cric but they bouth say that its very unlikely.
For their argument about thernmal noise i had responded that biological systems has limited dimensionality like DNA strands or lipid bilayes found in cell walls. In this situation thermal noise effect is attenuated as i had suggested in 1977 in my paper in Physics letters on enzyme efficacy mechanisms.
