Lots of work has been done in screening for inhibitors using various tools of Bioinformatics but very less is known for activators. It is my pleasure to ask whether we can develop activators for a protein? I believe we can develop a known activator to a potential activator using QSAR techniques but is there any ways to find out a completely novel activator for protein? Eagerly waiting for your suggestions and thanks in advance for your valuable time.

Hai Amit, Nice to know you wanted to work on the designing of the potential activators for a specific protein. The answer is yes, we can, but what type of the activators you would like to make,? Either peptide activators or small molecule activators. You can design a small peptides (Information can be extracted from the literature depending on its activation mechanism). As far as small molecule activators are concerned conventional insilico screening might cause some problems in this regards. You can design some peptidomimetic (peptide like) small molecule ligands and check them for the specific protein activity would work.
