I read in one fluid dynamics text that flow can remain laminar even up to 8000 to 10000 Reynolds number when it flow through a pipe. If the medium is undisturbed and surface is smooth enough. So i was thinking of the same in the other way.

Can vibration or a similar kind of disturbance can induce turbulence in lower Re ranges. Where flow is expected to be turbulent.

If so can we use that to induce turbulence and enhance heat transfer?
