I have two samples A and B of similar composition. Both underwent different treatment and studied for Surface area and porosity. The results indicated vast difference in surface area while their porosity and pore volume were same. Is this possible? What is the relationship between the surface area and porosity in such case?
Are the pore-size distributions the same? If the is more micro-pores in one sample You might have the same volume and surface areas.
Thank you Henrik Romar for your time in answering the query, The size distribution of two samples are almost same only a slight variations in the decimals. But the pore volume vary for the mesopores (around 3 nm). Could that be a contributing factor? Micro-pores could not be seen on the sample.
