Just ruminating on the monumental development in the agricultural sectors of the developed economies in term of unmatched infrastructures, new agricultural technologies and modern innovations that resulted into unprecedented food security status. Can the agricultural development drives in Sub Saharan Africa (SSA) come at par any time soon with that of the developed economies?

I have my own doubts , since there are some intrinsic issues of agriculture of developing countries in terms of small land holdings, population per unit land area as an unwanted demographic pressure on land as an ecosystem , unorganised marketing , export embargoes the guidelines of which are laid predominantly developed countries, lack of secondary agriculture facilities , poor value chain management , quality seeds fertilizers and irrigation facilities ...like that you can keep on writing about the constraints of agriculture prevailing in developing countries...

Yes, possible. For a 5 years planning based on a "Resistive Economy" the agriculture sector can be developed. In brief the resistive economy means saying NO to all outsources. At the start, it may need lot of energy, but it will turn possible.

This is possible in some developing countries such as Vietnam and Malaysia, but this is difficult in most developing countries due to the loss of successful management and the lack of modern technology in the agricultural process.
All is possible it needs a good leadership and dedication from the public until that it is a dream because these two are the deciding factors for progress in any field

I am not sure why this should happen. In developed countries a tiny few farmers produce very costly food with the need of a lot of energy for fertilizers, pesticides, mechanisation. The food often is not safe, chemical residues and also much environmental pollution. I really question if this should be a blueprint for developing countries where we often find mixed cultivation with high intensity, and relatively few external inputs. Often people feel that high outputs like in modern agriculture are needed, but right now enough food is produced to (statistically) feed everybody. Many people go hungry because food is too expensive to what they can afford.

Food insecurity in African sub-saharan region is a real challenge. There needs to be comprehensive back policy for holistic development of agriculture with easy accessibility of inputs to resource poor farmers...

why not? Use of advanced technology and Investment in the sector is need to be at par with developed country.

I think the agricultural sector of the developing countries can even 'overtake' that of the developed economies - it has a higher potential than that of developed countries. If it become real depends on how regional knowledge can be combined with 'western' technologies. Unfortunately, western countries often try to keep developing countries small - this politics enforces regional instabilities which also have a huge negative effect on agriculture in developing countries.
