I am trying to plot Gain vs frequency plot in HFSS. but when i generate the plot, all the points come shown on only one frequency which is centre frequency of my design 2.4 GHz. It looks like all the points overlapped on one another. Can someone please guide me, how can I see the gain on all the frequencies in HFSS?

For plotting the gain vs frequency 2D plot you need to do following steps:
1. Create a frequency sweep with Fast sweep type and activate the "save field" option.
2. Then you select results->Far Fields Reports -> Rectangular plot. Now select frequency as primary sweep and choose all the points you want to include in your plot.
3. Also select the appropriate values of theta and phi as per your design.

To export the data for any plot from HFSS to csv file format which is used in MATLAB, following procedure is followed:
1. Right click on the plot you want to export.
2. Then select Export.
3. Provide name to the file and the folder of your choice. The file type selected by default is "csv".
4. Then you can use this file in MATLAB code by calling its path.

Ya, you can select X-axis as frequency and Y-axis as gain for each and every "Theta" and "Phi" values as suggested by the Naveen kumar.
For peak gain; you are supposed to identify particular values of theta and phi where you are getting maximum gain. In this way you can draw rectangular plot and radiation patterns.
1)in far field result-rectangular plot-gain from context menu in the left in the solution choose sweep.
2)in the primary sweep,select freq
3)click on the right hand side of it if you want the frequency range and select the edit option.
4)from family option select a value to other parameters that have been defined.

1- Result -> Farfield report -> Rectangular tupe
2- Select Sweep (Solution type) -> Gain -> Total Gain -> dB
3- Select desired Frequency
4- Families - > Select desired angle.
5- Plot.

you need to do the following steps
1- go to Analysis- sweep -display all frequencies
2- results -create field reports --rectangular
3- solution setup sweep
4- primary sweep frequency, gain total in dB
5- Range fun. over sweep phi
6- families theta 90 degree
7 and press new report
Hello i followed the steps you have written but on my y-axes the values staterted from 0.00,-5.00,-10.00,-15.00,-20.00 is it possible to have a negative gain?am confused.

The values are in dB. Gain less than 1 represent negative values in dB.
Hello, i was able to add the gain plot. But when I have optimetrics I am not able to plot the gain for all the different optimetrics. Could someone please help me out on this?
In HFSS go to HFSS tab> Results> Create Far Filed report> Rectangular Plot>select trace tab> Prime Sweep: select Freq> select Gain > select dB> go to familes tab > select Theta=0 and Phi=0 >then click New Report.
Fallow this step and we have seen Gain Vs Frequency plot in HFSS.

1. find peaks in S11 plot.
2. Analysis -> Add Frequency Sweep (Sweep1) -> select discrete and single points
3. add the peak frequencies found in S11, select all and then analyze Sweep1 .
4. After completion of analyze,
Result -> far field report -> rectangular plot -> select sweep1 in space of last adaptive -> select Total Gain (or gain_phi and gain_theta) -> select db -> in Families select particular frequency and Select particular angle (0 or 90 as per E plane or H plane) -> New report
