The tree is found in Zimbabwe's woodlands. The bark of the tree when cut secret milky - like substance which is also sticky especially when heated over long period - the locals in Zimbabwe call the product urimbo. They use the product to bait birds.
I am requesting assitance in properly naming the tree (common and botanical name). I have attached more pictures maybe they might assit.

I think the most correct taxonomy of this tree depending on the flower, seeds and leaves, because this is the most taxonomical features for each tree at the world
I agree with Arvind and Ghazi, we need to see the flowers, leaves and fruits. It is like trying to identify a dead tree.

I have researched a lot on this tree/shrub and have reached to conclusion that it should have been Euphorbia griseola Pax subsp. mashonica L. C.. Leach of family Euphorbiaceae.

The best i can identify the tree to is to genus level i.e. its a commiphora species. I am very doubtful about it being a Euphorbia. The tree in the original picture you posted together with your description does not look like any of the Euphorbia species

I greatily appriciate your help. The image i posted was from my mobile phone which I took personally in Gokwe which is located in Zimbabwe's Midlands Province. Its unfortunate that by the time i took the photo, the plant had no flowers. now I am monitoring the plant so that i have photos of it with flowers. If my resources permit i intend to extract DNA and do phylogenetic identification of the species.

I greatily appreciate you help, I checked images of commiphora species, they look similar to what I have but my doubt is on the sticky white liquid..I am now thinking of taking photos of the plant with leaves, flowers, and fruit. Porbably a DNA check might settle my queries.

Thank you so much for the help. The tree I am having has bark that looks similar to E. matabelensis. My doubt is on the use of the latex "The boiled latex is sometimes used as a chewing gum ... A root decoction, combined with the leaves of Dichrostachys cinerea, is drunk to treat depression, high blood pressure and swollen lymph glands" . The locals here in Zimbabwe they do not consume its latex .... they actually percieve its poisonous such that when using it to bait birds they do so with extra care.

Thank you so much for the document, I have gone through the paper. The discreption on urimbo - the author clearly stated that Chikondekonde was being used for baiting birds. To my knowledge Chikondekonde is different from what I have in question. (Bird lime (urimbo) is commonly used by boys in hunting birds. The latex can be obtained from several tree species, but that of a certain Euphorbia known as chikondekonde is by far the most important).
In their paper it looks there is question on Euphorbia matabelensis: XuIyabo or ChiSimboti?...This Euphorbia matabelensis images on internet looks similar to my image of the tree in question - but it differs on documented uses. I think I can settle on a proper resolution of the plant species using molecular characterisation (maybe mtDNA or RNA use).
