I have obtained the source sequence of many proline metabolic genes from NCBI (such as p5cs1, p5cs2, p5cr, oat, pdh1, pdh2, etc.). The title of the genes varies with partial cd, complete cd, mRNA, and sometimes only gene. What does this signify? In the case of expression study, do we have to design a primer based on cd seq or is it fine if we use the whole gene seq?

Would a cd sequence be appropriate for a primer design for a real time assay? I was thinking that maybe I should choose a cd sequence or go for a gene and then use the exons of that gene.
