I am trying to do the actuator line modeling (ALM) of a wind turbine. I want to know how can I implement it with Fluent. In ALM, forces are distributed on a rotating line representing the loads on a wind turbine blade. How do I model this?
If anyone could guide me step-by-step on how to do it, I'd be immensely grateful!

So first and foremost, the turbine takes energy out of the passing wind through it. This can be modeled as a force acting against the direction of the wind. Typically, as a first starting point for your user defined function, you should select 3 lines of cells with an origin that are 120 degrees apart and calculate the force require along these 3 lines to remove half of the kinetic energy from the wind. Once you have this user defined function programmed, start rotating the lines and use these lines to select cells in this rotation in which the force is applied. When you have the forcing and rotation debugged, you can finally look into implementing forcing functions from Blade Element Theory or some known correlation for the turbine you're modelling.
