We are going to evaluate the pollution status of river Yamuna from nearly 500 km stretch stating after Delhi and passing through more than 6 districts till it meet with river Chambal. Planing to collect water samples from 50 km interval and/or in the begining and in the end of each city. After analyzing various parameters like DO, BOD, COD, Cations, Anions, Heavy metals etc want to put these data in a model to pridict pollution and possible remedies. Thanks

Qual2KE is a good program for water quality modeling or you can try WASP http://www.epa.gov/athens/wwqtsc/html/wasp.html
Elevation data is necessary to carry out water pollution modeling. I would suggest doing a transit survey of the sample collection points to get the height, depth and the width of the channel. more is better.
