There were common themes across question and instead of switching response to appropriate question, answers were coded across questions. Is it appropriate to use inductive approach in this case?
You are saying two things here. Open ended survey Questions and Coded using inductive approach. Are you doing a Quant or Qual study? You don't use surveys in Qual studies, you use questionnaires, and you don't Code using inductive approach using quant studies.
1. Inductive analysis places emphasis on data with no pre-existing categories and analysis is completed individually. 2. Theoretical analysis is used when already have themes but you all new themes to emerge during data analysis. 3. Thematic analysis is used with constant comparison, by comparing data that is being collected to the previous participants’ data. (Best for Case studies). Percy, Kostere, and Kostere (2015)
