I am trying to design an experiment to measure the amount of NH3 (gas) which is generated in the generator from the binary-fluid (NH3-water) in the refrigeration systems to see the effect of pressure, temperature of the system on the generation rate. So, my question is how can I measure this generation rate? Note: generator size is small (
This question can easily be answered as:
1- get the refrigeration load for the operating refrigerator using the absorption refrigeration system as in kW.
2- calculate the refrigeration effect from the T-S diagram or the P-h diagram forAmonia
3- Divide result in step 1 by that in step 2, you will get mass rate of flow of Ammonia
Thank you Mahmoud Hammad...Actually, I am trying to optimize the generator design of an absorption refrigeration system.Therefore, I am trying to build up an experiment set up for the generator only( without the others components such as condenser, evaporator, absorber,...) to see the effect of the heat added, the pressure and the temperature of the ammonia-water mixture on the generator performance. Adding heat to the generator will produce ammonia gas and water vapor. The criteria, of course, is the rate of ammonia generation with this amount of added heat. So, I wonder how can I measure the ammonia generation rate precisely( without water vapor)?
As far as i understand your experiment, you will have a certain amount of mixture without charging the generator with ammonia or water. If i am right, then you have a transient boiling prblem of mixture

You need to know the heat capacity. Then by knowing the concentration of the mixture you know the fusion heat. Heat capacity over the fusion heat is the evaporation rate
But be carefull, the fusion heat is function of the time in your case
