M6 (Reg. No. GP-1, BS 228) is a diploid self-compatible
inbred line of the potato wild relative Solanum chacoense. Could you please let me know if you have successfully transformed this line using Agrobacterium? I would really appreciate if you could share the protocol. I want to transform this line for CRISPR/Cas9 research. Thanks.
From online search, I have not seen any reports of this diploid potato (M6) got genetically transformed. Instead, another diploid potato line ( X914-10 ) was used for transformation and then the transgenic alleles' was transferred to M6 line by crossing. Line X914-10 was used because its high transformation efficiency (see attachment). Besides, are the DNA sequences of the genes in the M6 you want to target with CRISPR well established?
