Collaborative works are more creative than those of individual ones.The reason behind that is, through collaboration so may ideas are going to be gathered and developed as well unlike individual work.
I believe that collaborative creativity will be useful for ideation process. We can have SWOT analysis about an idea. Sharing thoughts and ideas is good while implementing in plan of action.
For the ideation process only, I believe a collaborative effort would yield better creative results than an individual effort. If you are looking at this from a design thinking perspective, then those broad creative ideas will need further convergent thinking to refine a solution before create several prototypes. That loop usually requires further investigation and refining which would also be best from a collaborative approach.
