Can I use XRD data acquired from different equipment with highscore plus?

I want to do the Rietveld refinement, but in the literature I see that there are several factors such as the scale factor which depend on the hardware and I am not sure if such factors are needed/used somewhere during the rietveld refinement. Many thanks.
