Hi people! I would like to ask whether anyone of you have extracted RNA from bacteria on a food matrix. I have to inoculate bacteria on nuts, and after my processing tests, I need to extract RNA from bacteria without dilute nuts (because it can alter the expression). Some people told me to use RNA protect, ou RNA later for estabilizing RNA. My question is, can I add RNA protect and after that, dilute the nuts (the standard method)? Or if I dilute I'll loose the effect? My problem is that I am testing low water activity, so I cannot dilute directly as in any of the other methods, but I would like to know if I can dilute nuts (for homogenizing) followed by the addition of a solution like Later or even, If I can add RNA latter on H20P, to do this protocol. Thank you!
