Can I use gelatin instead of poly L Lysine in coverslip cleaning?

I am planning to do annexin V FITC assay. For staining procedure we are supposed to clean glass coverslips. Poly L Lysine only we have to use for cleaning or any alternative, kindly help in cleaning procedure for coverslips.

Adding a thin layer of gelatin to a coverslip enhances the adhesion of cultured cells to glass.Gelatin-coating solution: 0.1% gelatin in deionized H2O.
