Tris buffer saline of pH-7.4.
As in case of emergency like one of the above mentioned acid gets over while adjusting the pH, than rest of the pH could be adjusted using other alternative acid. Is that possible? However, both acids has H+ions and would only differ by negative charges like cl- or No3- or So4 - .
please suggest.
Surely you _could_ adjust your pH with any of the given acids and their mixtures but bare in mind that 1. you will introduce new ionic species to your TBS, which in all cases and uses is definitely not desired and 2. if you adjust your pH using H2SO4, you will end up with HSO4- in the solution, which is a weak acid with a pKa around 2 and thus forms an equilibrium between HSO4- and SO4(2-). At pH 7.4 I don't think this is problematic though.
I never mix acids nor bases when adjusting pH.
