Can I ship cells overseas on dry ice? Does everyone have experience on this? We are going to extract RNA and protein (not culturing) from the cells (Buffy coat).
Thank you so much!
Hi Dinh,
You can ship but better to keep buffy coats in RNAlater solution for long term preservation and RNAase free environment.
But for both RNA and protein should be extracted in a shorter time frame, otherwise you will get degraded products.
For how long can I keep the cells?
I only need to transfer cells and then store them at -80 until the day of extraction. I am going to keep cells only for 1-2 weeks.
