I am preparing polymer lipid hybrid nano particles. how can I prove that the formulated particles are made up of lipids and polymers not only polymer alone? Can FTIR show this?
Dear all, if the word 'integration' means grafting than the graft linkage bond may be an indication if this bond has a specific absorption in the IR domain. If it means other feature please specify. My Regards

Yes, because chemical reactions between organic molecules and atoms on the surface of nanoparticles change the vibration wavelengths corresponding to the bonds. For example

If you want to prove the formulated particles are made up of lipids and polymers not only polymer alone, please analyze the nanoparticles by FETEM for elemental mapping. From this, you can prove strongly. Of course, FTIR can show only the type of bond made between the polymer and lipid in the spectra. Hope this will help you. For more information, you can follow our recent paper in which polymer (NaCMC) and lipid-based nanoparticles were analyzed in detail.
