research gate just told me that one of my papers has been read 200 times. i have a second paper on this subject, which gives the mechanism, but it seems that nobody is aware of it.
i would like to contact the 200 readers and give them the reference to that second paper. is that possible ?

Most of the time we do not know the name of those who are reading our paper. So, I think that it should be difficult, may be impossible to contact the 200 readers you speak about and give them the reference to your second paper. Maybe the best you can do is to add you paper to your publications in RG.

You could also add your new paper to RG, open the RG page for your previous paper, and add a comment there with a link to your new paper.
Add your paper in RG. There is also a provision for sharing but I doubt whether you can reach all the authors who have read your paper.
