I think this is an interesting question. I have long struggled with the concept of emotional intelligence (EI), this is despite having been both a leader and manager, and having studied leadership and management. In the last two years, I have had a my diagnosis as autistic confirmed. I now understand why the concept has troubled me. Like many things, as a concept, I believe it has a dialectic value for some people to explain some things. However, I do not believe it is at all necessary to use it to explain good/bad leadership or management. It is not a concept I find necessary to use in my critical management study or practice.
Dear, Aneeba Rashid , Thanks for the wonderful ideas and texts! I would like you to familiarize yourself with this management concept! Make sure you get satisfaction and motivation!
Dear Dr Valentin Vasilev , This is a beautiful question.
Emotional intelligence is all about 1. identifying the emotion 2. Understanding its potential and 3. Making use of that emotion for the intended purpose.
This tool was used for very long as a management tool.
For example, in (Historic) War based Hollywood Movies, the Hero gives a long/emotive speech and makes them very emotional, then goes for the battleground. Here, the Hero tries to understand the emotions of soldiers, tries to provoke them (to the emotion that he wants), and then lets his solders going for war.
I have observed that many politicians, corporate leaders, union leaders, and other type of leaders are doing this.... Yes. it is a modern management tool. Warm regards Yoganandan G
By improving your EQ and taking active steps to make changes, you'll find you are more productive and can build more productive relationships around you. Emotional Intelligence is important, it's intrinsic to who we are, and as such it impacts every facet of our lives, and most notably the workplace.
Emotional intelligence can provide the backbone of that understanding that strengthens team building, productivity, morale, and more. Whatever model your workplace follows, emotional intelligence can build better leaders and help prevent employee turnover.
According to Salovey and Mayer, emotional intelligence is a form of intelligence that involves the ability to control one's feelings and emotions and those of others, to distinguish between them and to use that information to guide one's thoughts and actions.
Sincere thanks Faraed Salman, Yoganandan G , Zorica Popović ! The topic of emotional intelligence has been extremely interesting to me in recent years scientifically. In my view, the role of the EC is increasing steadily. I believe that this topic should be taught already in secondary school, gradually ingesting children with its importance!
For creating an atmosphere calm , quite & healthy in our organization , Our feelings .calmness under emotional temperament may play a very healthy part . In this regards some years back I have also expressed my certain views in this regards which I submit herewith for your perusal .
What ever the nature of management it must have SYSTEM ,PRACTICE,PROPER PLANNING ,& to manage the implementation a very planned approach is MUST.
For Self Management it is an individual approach under a creative process for our Self action approach .In certain cases there is every possibilities the certain disturbing problem may come in our action & also in our Performance .It is likely that because of our individual Management we may become sensitive ,more emotion for taking a right action & right decision .
For this for any individual or professional personnel certain disturbing problem are bound to come but we must train our mind & view any problem under a CALM & QUITE manner & before getting our mind in a disturbing stages it is desirable to keep CALM & QUITE for about few minutes & than silently think regarding the problems ,it is likely that we may receive a right decision .
Dear Rohit Manilal Parikh , Very precise opinion! Congratulations! I believe there are more points of view in this topic. Today alone, more than 15 colleagues took part. Their answers are thorough and full of practical guidance. I believe that with this question we are laying the foundations for a group discussing in depth the so-called "soft skills" and their application in practice. Thank you for the shared ideas and opinions! They are motivating for me and my team! Stay healthy!
When it comes to intelligence as it relates to emotion, it is likely that emotion may drive expectations of our emotional intuition, but it cannot be a path of intelligence entirely.
Modern organization theory considers emotional intelligence as the index of competencies that help organizations to develop a vision for competitiveness. It also allows organizational leaders to enthusiastically commit to the vision, and energize organizational members to achieve the vision. To maximize competitiveness organizations use models to simplify and clarify thinking, to identify important aspects, to suggest explanations and to predict consequences, and explore other performance areas that would otherwise be hidden in an excess of words. An important subject that you mentioned Dr Valentin Vasilev in the form of a question on emotional intelligence, which is recognized as a key skill in management but also in everyday and social life. The importance of emotional skills is paramount in, among other things, Good stress management, effective learning, building healthy and satisfying relationships with others and good professional career management. It comes down to better analyzing our emotions and those of others to better communicate, motivate oneself and motivate others. In the particular case of Algeria, from a cultural point of view, the social bond occupies a primordial place; it often has its origins and is strongly linked to religious practices. However, and especially in professional places, it seems to me that this component is still lacking. I think that over time, more importance will be attached to this subject in the workplace because it is decisive for success in general.
Some studies in Algeria have been carried out in schools to study the effect of emotional intelligence on the personality of school-going adolescents. This kind of study shows that we are aware of the importance of this subject to strengthen organization, resilience and success at all levels.
Culture is sometimes an enabler or a barrier to emotional intelligence. Culture, in the sense of cultural/ professional/ corporate. Not forgetting subcultures.
Management requires professionals who are able to identify and manage their emotions and the feelings of others, as well as a strong knowledge of using their emotional skills, to do their professional work and the ability to adapt to different situations.
Yes! That is important. Emotional intelligence and emotional resilience are crucial nowadays and considered powerful personality traits and useful self-management indicators.

“Emotional intelligence is the ability to understand and manage your own emotions, know how those can influence others around you and even manage other people’s emotions.” If you really think about it, it all fits nicely. Emotions are difficult to understand or manipulate (like magic), but at the same time, they can be immensely powerful factors. https://www.google.com/amp/s/explore.easyprojects.net/blog/how-emotional-intelligence-can-make-your-management-processes-more-successful/amp
Self-awareness is the first step towards exploring emotional intelligence. When you are self-aware, you have a higher chance to make the right decisions in complex situations. The difficult part of self-awareness is about being completely honest with yourself and recognizing not only your strengths, but weaknesses as well. Only when you are honest with yourself you can improve your own skills, and therefore help your team improve theirs. Building self-awareness can be very useful and help you out in dire situations, when a cold head and strong logical thinking are essential. https://www.google.com/amp/s/explore.easyprojects.net/blog/how-emotional-intelligence-can-make-your-management-processes-more-successful/amp
The basis of emotional intelligence is laid in the family. Children repeat the actions, emotions of their parents. If the family has a positive attitude, then the child often, when discussing the question posed, approaches him first from the positive side, and then identifies the shortcomings and seeks to correct it.
"Influence of Emotional Intelligence on Decision Making by Leaders."
The researcher used the questionnaire to collect data, and the study sample consisted of (150) participants at various levels of executives from a government district in the Trikremi neighborhood, and the results indicated that there is a relationship between emotional intelligence and decision-making. Moreover, the results indicated that intelligence Emotion strongly influences decision-making.
Emotional intelligence (EI) forms the juncture at which cognition and emotion meet, it facilitates our capacity for resilience, motivation, empathy, reasoning, stress management, communication, and our ability to read and navigate a plethora of social situations and conflicts
The concept is wonderful and productive if it is applied, but unfortunately the administration in my country means bullying and threat as well. So it is never applicable
Emotional intelligence (EI), emotional quotient (EQ) and emotional intelligence quotient (EIQ), is the capability of individuals to recognize their own emotions and those of others, discern between different feelings and label them appropriately, use emotional information to guide thinking and behavior, and adjust emotions to adapt to environments.
Studies have shown that people with high EI have greater mental health, job performance, and leadership skills, although no causal relationships have been shown. EI is typically associated with empathy because it involves an individual connecting their personal experiences with those of others. Since its popularization in recent decades, methods of developing EI have become widely sought by individuals seeking to become more effective leaders.
Emotionally intelligent people are more confident and motivated, constantly evaluate their attitudes and thoughts, relate in a more balanced way and are able to face difficult situations more easily, having great capacity to overcome. As it is noticeable, emotional intelligence is extremely important to deal with the moment we are experiencing due to the coronavirus pandemic.
My opinion of Emotional intelligence (EI) is the wise application of ethics as a function of social evolution relative to the physical constructal law. A presentation on the constructal law in the social domain:
Emotional intelligence is connected with open-mindedness, creativity and empathy. It's a so called soul. It's good that is against evil.As we know from our ancient sages, "a body without a soul is a corpse"
In my opinion, emotional intelligence can be an excellent, modern tool for managing organizations, including institutions and enterprises. However, emotional intelligence may not be a modern management tool for every type of business entity. Emotional intelligence can be a good, modern management tool, e.g. in modern, technological companies where modern management concepts are used based on employee participation in creating innovation, equating their success with the company's success, and in managing creative and research teams, in companies characterized by high organizational culture.
Thanks for the great opinion. I totally agree with the opinion expressed! The role of emotional intelligence will expand in the near future! And that's beyond doubt!
Emotional intelligence, to me is not modern, it was there since mankind. We have in the bible the story of King Solomon wanting to divide the child who was alive. This shows that the king was emotional thinking while making that decision.

I think it is very important, especially when making decisions. You want to make logical decisions without emotion, its also important in social interactions and when leading a team. I think it is also important to understand not only your own emotions but understand the emotions of others and how you interact with people and how the interactions you have with others might affect them emotionally.
In new, more participatory and activating innovativeness of employees modern concepts of enterprise, company, corporation management, etc., the importance of using emotional intelligence is growing. If the employer cares about the innovativeness of employees, the identification of employees with the company, building long-term relationships with employees, and the fact that employees identify their professional success and connect them with the business success of the enterprise, it is necessary to constantly improve the instruments of employee motivation, including non-wage instruments motivation. Increasing the effectiveness of the use of non-wage instruments of employee motivation can be implemented through the efficient, reliable use of emotional intelligence in the context of applying a specific, modern concept of managing an economic entity.
Emotional intelligence is used in modern management to motivate the employees to work harder when the monetary incentives stop to work. Managers learn new techniques how to influence or manipulate people and use them on their workers. The whole thing was inspired by Dale Carnegie’s works in the 1930s but became particularly popular nowadays.
It is something absolutely necessary, primordial and essential:All management must attend, as a priority, to Interpersonal Relationships and, in them, Emotional Intelligence (see Goleman et al. -1999; 2005; 2008; 2018; etc.-) is SOMETHING NUCLEAR.
Dear Valentin Vasilev The best tool that a manager can use to read, understand and influence people is his or her emotional intelligence. Paying attention to the nuances of someone's character and speech can unravel clues about how to best motivate and encourage individuals, which one can only achieve that by having empathy for others.
Emotional intelligence can make management processes more suucessful. The five stages to understanding and manipulating emotional intelligence are: self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy and social skills.
