@ Samual, the fertilizer recommendation depends on the soil status and growth of plants. In general, well composted organic manure @10-15 Kg/plant is recommended. The fertilizer recommendation is generally 30g/tree (NPK 15:15:15) during September of 1st year of growth, 30g/tree(NPK 15:15:15) in April/May, July and September during 2nd year of growth, 60g/tree(NPK 15:15:15) during 3rd year of growth in the month of April/May, July and September.During 4th and 5th year 90g/tree (thrice April/May, July and September) and 120g/tree respectively is recommended.
Dear Samuel, I would suggest getting a soil analysis as a first step. Second it would be good to find the nutrient sources organic or conventional in your area. Consult local experts and the literature. The amount of nutrients will increase as the plant develops so nutrition is a moving target. In addition it will great if your can employ foliar analysis to determine if the nutrition is reaching the target in the plant. I mostly agree with JC Tarafdar but think a 2 1 2 N P K fertilizer ration would be most appropriate. I would suggest your organic amendment be as composted materials with phosphate rock to stimulate the initial development. Micronutrients potential issues can be confirmed by foliar analysis and can be fairly common. Field experiment can be used to determine the best rate ranges for your purposes.
Application of bulky organic manures like FYM or compost @ 5 tonnes/ha once in two years would improve the soil condition and better utilization of applied fertilizers. Recommended dose of fertilizers for coffee is attached herewith. The recommended dose of fertilizers should be applied in three splits (post-blossom, pre-monsoon, post-monsoon) by adopting drip circle method. However, a word of caution is that it is blanket recommendation and as suggested by the Dr JC Tarafdar and Dr Paul, Soil testing is the essential step and accordingly, fertilizer dose can be decided.
