I want to enrich the ER membrane protein for western blot, since the protein I studied had a low expression level. I found someone did so by isolation microsomes, while most of the reference I found was related to liver cells. Does anyone know if it works in stem cells, especially on embryonic stem cells and its differentiation derivatives? Thanks for any suggestion!

Maybe you have to optimise the isolation protocol according to your spedific cell type (like amount of cells, number of strokes with syringe as these factors depend on cell size) but in principle this method should be working not only for one specific cell type.
