Treatment of anti-cancer compounds on cancer cell increase the apoptosis. Can I detect pro, early and late apoptotic cell after treatment of inhibitor.
Definetly! You can do that by carrying out an annexin V staining. Annexin V test is an efficient way to differentiate early apoptotic cells from late apoptotic cells. However, it is not easy to get good results if cells are not manipulated adequately. As a tip, try to use an EDTA free PBS when washing your cells.
To detect these stages you would need to include PI, 7AAD or other exclusion dye to the basic AnnexinV labelling. This allows differentiation of early through to late stage via uptake of the exclusion dye in annexin population followed by loss of annexin fluorescence intensity.
