I want to do DNA extraction from blood by following Protocol 6 Rapid Isolation of Mammalian DNA (Sambrook). One of the equipment is CH3COOK, but I have no CH3COOK in my laboratory and only CH3COONa available. Can I use CH3COONa instead?
honestly, i have no idea about that. but, if i were you, i would do it to try it out. my suggestion, don't too much dependent on protocol. since natrium and kalium are the same type of alkali, perhaps it still work.
Thank you Ashraf Abbas and Ruslan Kalendar for the recommendation
Ruslan Kalendar if Na-SDS salt would not be precipitated effectively, is it completely unusable or still can be used though the result is not as good as using CH3COOK? and how about what you did by using CH3COONa, Ashraf Abbas ?
