In lower level classes I start with a simpler question. If a mirror reflects an image from left to right, why doesn’t it reflect the image from top to bottom? Of course the researchers know the answer to that question. It starts with a false assumption and omits the vital facts.

On a higher level something of the same type occurs in the ways we ask questions about the passage of time and time reversal. CERN has done work on CPT reversal which is charge, parity, and time. An effort is made to pose the research questions in such a way that they do not contain false assumptions and ignore the leading clues.

Time reversal does occur to the extent that it can be measured and studied. The present question is about the potential or lack or potential to go the next step in time reversal.
