I am simulating soil-pile interaction behavior. I have seen that that without the geostatic step the analysis gives a better result which is close to experimental results. If the geostatic step is necessary, then how can we make the deflection from the geostatic step as the initial condition for the load application step? I have seen the manual but these things are not clear to me as such. If someone respond then it will be very helpful for me.
Thanks for your answer. And sorry for late reply. Actually I was wrong. The better result was because of mesh sizes. But now I am facing different problem. Another model is showing a warning message, 'displacement increment for contact is too big' and the analysis is aborting after 100 increments. 100 increments are the max. allowed increments. I don't know what is wrong and what is the solution of this.
