My projects concerns the miniaturization of Ion Chromatography. At this point we aim to demonstrate its capability in analyzing relevant samples, using a chip-based device.
Can anyone supply an Arctic ice core sample? I would require only 1 mL to be able to establish a proof of principle. We are always willing to include a co-author from your institute in the resulting publication.

What do you mean by ice core ? Sea ice or continental ice ? For sea ice, we can definitly accomodate your request. For continental ice, I guess it's more complicated you should contact Jean-Louis Tison from ULB.

Thank you for the contact. I have also discussed this with another group at the VUB (who have Arctic Sea ice samples), and they have also put me in contact with Prof. Tison from the ULB, so I reckon this must indeed be the right person to talk to.
... sometimes, things are closer by than we had in mind.

Hi Sam,
Jean-Louis is also working on Ion chromatography on this type of samples. He's generally intersted in new technologies and he's open mind. So you should not hesitate to contact him. The point is that there is probably much less arctic continental ice available than sea ice. I think that's the trick.
By the way, we are interested by measurements in snow.
