Parameters depend on several factors as type of ignition, low or atmospheric pressure etc.
Please, bear in mind that hydrophobic recovery of oxygen plasma treated PDMS is very fast not only due to migration of low molecular weight species but also by reorientation through conformational changes of molecules within the surface. Due to high segmental mobility (glass transition temperature significantly below -100°C) hydrophobic recovery of plasma treated PDMS is very fast. To stabilise the hydrophilic effect to a special extent, oxygen plasma treated PDMS should be stored in water. According to our experience a post treatment with aqueous polyethyleneimine and subsequent drying can be used. This helps to significantly slow down alteration of plasma-treated PDMS.
