This is meant for steady stress calculations for the fluid-structure interaction. The gradient feeds into a SQP type search algorithm.
First of all nice to see my ex-students are so active on the Research Gate. :) Thank you guys. I had a quick look at the user guide, and it seems this is a collection of libraries and you need to write your own program to do the solve and there are examples of PDEs including RANS solve using FE, right? I was hoping for a black box solve for the structural analysis lets say steady stress under centrifugal load (including any meshing needed). Do you think this package would do it?
Well, Deal.II is a library specially for FEM analysis (with lots and lots of tutorials etc.). But a black box approach, I don't know, maybe here? :

Another code that I am aware of is CALULIX . this was originally developed by MTU but now is open source, which very much suited for turbomachinery. Prof Verstraete (under the EU project) at Queen Mary has been working on this, using AD to produce the Adjoint version, however do not think it has been released to open source yet.
