I am working on patients with dysphasia. I need a device for assessment of muscle abnormalities and treatment efficacy in this fields of clinical applications and use it to Comparison and monitoring of the physical condition of muscles in the training and recovery process.
Use Bluetooth supported data acquisition devices. EMG is the best non-invasive method to investigate muscle contractions. Even portable EMG devices are also available.
When you say "muscle tone", what do you mean? It is not a scientific term. What exactly do you want to measure? And which muscle(s) do you want to make measurements on? Muscle functional capacities (e.g., strength, maximal shortening velocity, range of motion) are the ones most people think about; strength is by far the most important. However, if you want to make measurements on the muscles involved with swallowing, good luck on that. I cannot imagine those measurements being easy to make.
