iam using ansys apdl 12 version and try to solve the RC Beam under four point loading system for nonlinear static analysis. my problem do not converge after the load value nearby the first crack load.
can anyone plz suggest where is the mistake in my model.
if possible run the entire model and tell me the ultimate load and deflection values. The experimental values are around 75 KN and 92mm for ultimate load and deflection respectively.
i have input all the unit parameters in terms of N & mm only. i attach my entire model file below.

try reducing the load increment and reduce the elements size near the crack locations, also check on your failure criterion and make sure your element is capable of cracking
In my model the maximum size of element is 31.75 mm only, but still it does not goes beyond the applied load of19kN due to convergence as the first crack load is nearly 25KN. I tried load incremental with a scale factor of 1.1 but still not converges. I swith off the crushing value (kept -1).
The applied load and the time at the end step must be equal to 75. Use the compressive strength value of cylinders at the same date of the tested beam in stead of (-1). For the stress-strain curve, use the compressive strength of cylinders of 28 days with nonlinear E- modulus. If the proplem still there, then you need to use another formula to calculate the tensile strength. I hope this may help.
