I haven't had problems with LX2 cells after many passages (even after 10). I think the "official number" is 20. But you should be aware that these immortalized cells are not fully phenotypically "pure" and they have or doesn't have the typical HSCs markers.

I prefer to use primary hHSCs (They are more phenotypically "pure"), but with those, you should use them before 7-8 passages because they tend to de-differentiate after that. Or use primary mouse HSCs whenever is possible.
