Basically, I am working on a project to estimate these values non-invasively. As mentioned in the question, I want a setup to acquire these data for me. What hardware would be good to go with as well as economically viable. Also, I want the entire processing to be done by the hardware, i.e. no MATLAB or such software. What microprocessor should I use? Will an Arduino do? What about an Texas Instruments MSP430 LaunchPad? Thanks.

As you do not want any software part for processing, let's consider what your system will be -
1) The BP Transducer
2) Transducer front-end electronics
3) Signal Conditioning and finally
4) The Data Acquisition system
The MSP430 LaunchPad and Arduino boards can be used to start with for a single channel data acquisition with moderate speed. But I recommend a better data acquisition system such as PICO systems. One of their system will cost you around 12-15 thousand rupees. Check if this suits you.
Coming back to the sensor/transducer and the signal conditioning, this is the area where you will have to implement all (or the maximum possible) signal processing in analog domain. You can always use instrumentation amplifier/s with 4th order filters to keep the cost low.
