Can anyone please share the protocol for electrolyte assay standardized for yeast? I don't have any equipment for measuring the conductivity, can it be measured using the pH meter?
There is not any direct relation between conductivity and pH.
pH measures the concentration of H+ ion only,
Conductivity measures the concentrations of all active ions present in the solution but at lower pH (higher concentration of H+ ions) and at higher pH (Higher concentration of OH-) and near pH = 7 value of TDS is low. Due to the small size, H+ ions TDS value will be higher than OH- .
