It feeds on damaged kernels of corn and coffee beans with high content of humidity in warehouses in Colombia.
This species is not belonging to Pyralidae, because of the rough facial scales (in Pyralidae smooth). This species belongs to the family Tineidae, probably the genus Nemapogon. Species from this genus are known cereal feeders.
I agree with Cees, this is a Tineid moth.
Tineidae Gen. sp.
Tineoidea.
I agree, probably Tineidae,
Rinaldo Nicoli
Please ask Dr. R. Gaedike from Germany
Thank you all for the identification of this Tineid moth
Regards,
Luis Miguel
I do agree with Cees, this is a Tineid moth.
I would like to know how to register the journal Flora Montiberica (ISSN 1138-5952 - eISSN 1988-799X) in Research Gate.
