I precipitated DNA with ammonium acetate and ethanol. But ammonium ions inhibits kinases. So, i want to reprecipitate the DNA with sodium acetate and ethanol. But i don't know if sodium ions eliminate ammonium ions from the DNA. Does anybody know?
The main interest of ammonium acetate in DNA precipitation is that it is fully volatile so speedvac treatment of DNA pellet should be enough to get rid of it.
Precipitate with 0.7 volume isopropanol and wash twice with 1 ml of 75 % ethanol. Air dry the pellets after tipping off all alcohol in tissue paper. Air dry it by putting sample tube above the airflow of laminar airflow until it's completely dry(for 10 minutes). You will get good quality DNA. Good luck
